Historical Society Welcomes A Zemi

The archaeological site at Grand Bay is said to be one of the most densely populated locations of artifacts in the Eastern Caribbean and a recent finding bears testimony to this conclusion.

Last week Tuesday, Archaeological Illustrator of the University of Oregon, John Swogger, presented the Carriacou Historical Society with an amazing find of a Zemi, which was discovered at the site three years ago.

Auspicious Send-Off For Three Outstanding Teachers

For their outstanding and sterling contribution to the teaching profession, which spans a collective one hundred and sixteen (116) years, three members of the fraternity; one of whom rose to the position of principal, now have special retirement plaques standing proudly in their living rooms.

It was a touching a special moment for teachers, Rhonda McLawrence, Brenda McFarlane and Principal, Sharon Bristol who were surrounded by scores of their former colleagues of the profession, including members of both the national and local branches of the Grenada Union of Teachers on Wednesday evening, as they were given a special send off from the education fraternity.
