Bright Future For Regatta Says Min. Nimrod

Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, Hon Elvin Nimrod has called on the Regatta Committee to ensure that there is a youthful blend of membership within the organizational structure of the event.

While declaring the 52nd annual anniversary of the celebration officially opened last week Friday at Hillsborough Square, Minister Nimrod said that the inclusion of youths into the festival is a sure sign of sustainability.

Great Welcome For Bishop Harvey

The music and song of a joyful noise unto the Lord bellowed out last week Wednesday at the Hillsborough Jetty to welcome newly ordained Roman Catholic Bishop to this Country, Clyde Harvey, as he landed on Carriacou soil; and there was a similar welcome as he set foot on Petite Martinique the following day.

On arrival, the Bishop was met by both local priests, Fr Ivanuius and Fr Evaristus together with Chairman of the Pastoral Committee for St Patrick’s, Cosmos Bristol.

Natalia Crowned Miss Teen Regatta

Portraying the Maroon Festival, thirteen years old, Natalia Ollivierre has captured the 2017 Miss Teen Regatta beauty pageant title.

Appearing on stage as the fifth and final contestant, Miss Ollivierre, from the sister isle of Petite Martinique secured the title in front a large crowd at the Hillsborough Tennis Court on Saturday night, by scoring 280 points. She also walked away with the individual prizes for, most exciting talent, best-fitted swimwear and most gorgeous evening gown.
