Lucozade Road March Kings Honored

The 2016 Carnival Road March Kings, Dubbed Lucozade Kings of the Road were honored by sponsors George F Huggins, with a call for greater inclusion during their one-year reign.

Addressing a small gathering that included Road March winners Digaan Henry and Nyelon William who goes by the Calypso sobriquet “Lil Natty and Thunder” and members of the Spicemas Cooperation during a short presentation ceremony at the Cooperation office in Lagoon Road last Friday, Huggins Representative George Cherribin said it is the hope of his company that this year would see the emergence of a new trend, that would allow greater visibility to the Carnival Road March King.

Cherribin said in a manner to what is being done for the Calypso King and Queen of Carnival he is calling on the Road March winners to prepare a schedule that would afford them that opportunity and his company though not making any promises would be more that willing to be a part of any event planned in this regard.

Last Friday saw the handing over of a Cheque in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5000.00) to the winner plus a quantity of drinks, which he said would help to revitalize the artiste as they prepare for their upcoming major events.

Friday’s symbolic Cheque presentation came days before the duo left Grenada to participate in the 2016 Labour Day celebration and Manager Orlando Noel said this year, he is endeavoring to take the game to a different level, and therefore the Grenadian public can look forward to seeing good representation from 2016 Road March Kings on the international stage.  Labour Day he said is just the start.

The 2016 winning Road March song according to the judges is the song by the duet Lil Natty and Thunder  “ Take it to them.”
