One man has succumbed to his injuries from last Tuesday’s vehicular accident involving a car and a truck on the Beausejour public road that left four people hospitalized.

Dead is Jason Charles a 29-year-old fisherman from the village of Mt Craven in St. Patrick. According to information reaching the Grenada Informer, he died two days after he was admitted as a patient at the hospital in critical condition.

Sources said Charles, who was one of the passengers in the crashed car, was one of two men admitted to the hospital in critical condition, the other being the driver Bevin Lewis who remains in serious condition at the hospital

The mid morning accident involving car registration number PAA127 travelling toward St. George’s from Sauteurs and truck registration number TS 449 travelling from St. George’s, came face to face within touching distance of the Beausejour Playing Field trapping two of the three occupants of the car inside their vehicle.

The Jaws of Life bit of equipment had to be used my members of the Royal Grenada Police Force, with assistance from the public, to pry the men from the wrecked car.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and had to be towed away from the scene of the accident later that day.
