Kelvin Williams on $15,000.00 Bail for Causing Grievous Harm

Kelvin Williams was charged with the indictable offence of causing grievous harm and while his matter is pending, the magistrate banished him from the Parish of St. Andrew. However, wherever he chooses to reside, he must report to the police station at that location once a week.

The conditions were imposed on Kelvin Williams in being granted fifteen thousand dollars bail with two sureties. Known throughout Grenada as one of the dancers for the popular entertainer, Mr Killer, Williams came to St Andrew’s from St John’s a few years ago and was employed as a driver for one of the bakeries in the Town of Grenville.

However, he entered into a romantic affair with a young lady from the parish and they shared an apartment in the village of Soubise in St Andrew. Over the years things took a turn for the worse and the relationship deteriorated into conflict and alleged abuse a source says.

Informer is not clear as to what caused the altercation between Williams and his female companion to escalate into uncontrollable violence. He is alleged to have used a flare gun which caused severe injuries to the face of his companion that led to his arrest.

She was hospitalized as a result of the injury.

During Williams’ second court appearance last Wednesday the charge of grievous harm was read to him but he was not allowed to plead. He was represented by attorney at -law Anslem Clouden.

Williams was also ordered to surrender his travel documents and is not permitted to travel without permission. He must also avoid all contact with the complainant.
