Windward Volcanoes drift to 5th place after weekend loss

Windward Volcanoes’ 172 run defeat at the hands of neighbouring Trinidad and Tobago Red Force at the Grenada National Stadium last weekend resulted in a shift in their position at the points table; the local boys moving from their previous fourth position to now occupying the fifth position.

The local team’s failed to capitalized on the perfect start aided by overnight moisture on a flat stadium wicket, having their opponents reeling at 5 for 57 at lunch to losing the game outright by 172 runs.

GCA Awards 17 for Excellence in Cricket

The Grenada Cricket Association (GCA) last Saturday held its third annual award ceremony at the Grenada Trade Centre to recognize exemplary, performances and services in the various fields of cricket for the year 2016.

Seventeen awards were presented to various individuals; teams and clubs that in the opinion of the GCA surpassed expectations in the area of service to GCA or cricket related matters and perform excellently in the different aspects of the sport.

Grenada Prepares to host Winlott U15 Cricket

The Grenada Cricket Association is putting final preparations in place for the 2017 Winlott Under fifteen Tournament due to take place in Grenada from April 9th to the 19th.

The tournament, which is expected to feature the best under fifteen cricketers from among the Windward Islands namely Dominica, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines and host Grenada in two weeks of exciting under fifteen cricket, as they battle for championship honors.
