Grenada Prepares to  host Winlott U15 Cricket

The Grenada Cricket Association is putting final preparations in place for the 2017 Winlott Under fifteen Tournament due to take place in Grenada from April 9th to the 19th.

The tournament, which is expected to feature the best under fifteen cricketers from among the Windward Islands namely Dominica, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines and host Grenada in two weeks of exciting under fifteen cricket, as they battle for championship honors.

According to information from the Grenada Cricket Association, with all the basic amenities already in place, the focus has now shifted to team preparation and ensuring that pitches and fields for the games are in top shape.

Meanwhile a nineteen-man squad, among them two players that were part of the 2016 Grenada team is presently in training  with the hope of the best thirteen players being selected to represent Grenada in the tournament.    

The primary objective of the tournament is to select the Windward Island Under 15 team to participate in the West Indies Under 15 tournament later in the year.   

The venues for the 2017 tournament is likely to be Progress Park in St Andrew, La Sagesse in St. David’s and the Grenada National Stadium.
