The battle for the Cecil Greenidge Grassroot Under 15 Cup is on

The battle for championship honours and bragging rights among under-fifteen cricketers from eight of the top functioning cricket clubs in Grenada is on.

 The tournament held under the auspices of the Grenada Cricket Association under the name, The Cecil Greenidge Grassroots Under 15 Cup, got off to an exciting start last Saturday at various playing fields around Grenada with all eight participating teams engaged in competition. 

The match Junior Murray Cricket Academy (JMCA) versus Upsetters played at SSU ground in St George’s saw Junior Murray Academy winning by 82 runs. 

Batting first JMCA scored 153 for 6 from 20 overs and bowled out their opponent for 71 runs. The game Mt Horne Sports Club versus River Sallee saw victory for River Sallee by 6 wickets.

Batting first Mt Horne, 55 all out; River Sallee in response, 57 for 4.

 The match Old Boys Sports Club versus Pressure Pumpers saw victory for Old Boys by 35 runs.

 Batting first old Boys scored 65 for 7 from 20 overs and Pressure Pumpers in reply, 30 all out from 13 overs.

The game between Beauregard United and West Point ended in victory for West point by one wicket.

 Beauregard United batted first and scored 46 all out from 21.1 overs, West Point replied with 47 for 9.  

 The tournament continues this weekend with another four matches. In zone A, Upsetters takes on West Point at Woburn and match two will feature Junior Murray Cricket Academy versus Beauregard United in Beauregard.

 In zone B, Old Boys takes on Mt Horne in Mt Horne and Pressure Pumpers and River Sallee meet each other in River Sallee.
