Fishermen’s Birthday

June 29th is always a very special day for the people of Gouyave in particular and St. John in general. On that day the Catholic Parish, which Church is dedicated to St. Peter, celebrate the Solemnity of Apostles St. Peter and St. Paul, both of whom were martyred in Rome on that day for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Tradition has it that Paul was beheaded and that Peter was crucified upside down.

The Grenada Dilemma Part 2:

I said it in August 2008: “the NDC came into office at a very bad time”. The world was experiencing a major recession and international financial institutions were being hard hit. The developed industrial economies were feeling the cold of depression and as a result micro economies like Grenada with a dependency syndrome were catching the Asian flu. However, I trusted their ability to weather the storm, regardless.
