Co-op Bank Awards Fourteen Scholarships

On June 22, 2017, Grenada Cooperative Bank Limited awarded scholarships to fourteen students as part of its annual Super Starter Education Investment Plan Programme.

Seven silver scholarships, each valued at $1,200, were awarded to primary school students and seven gold scholarships, each valued at $2,500, were awarded to secondary school students. The lottery draw was conducted in the presence of the Bank’s Auditors, Pannell Kerr Foster.

GPP and WRB File Arbitration Claim with ICSID to Enforce Government of Grenada’s Obligation to Repurchase GPP’s Grenlec Shares

On May 5th Grenada Private Power Limited (GPP), the 50% shareholder of Grenlec, along with GPP’s parent company WRB Enterprises Inc. (WRB), filed a request for arbitration with the World Bank’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID); the purpose of this arbitration is to enforce the Government of Grenada’s contractual obligation to repurchase the 50% Grenlec shareholding that Government previously sold to GPP.  

Two men in CRV arrested Good Friday

The driver and passenger of a white CRV SUV that crashed into a passenger bus on Good Friday in Pearls, St. Andrew have been arrested.

According to the police officer that visited the scene of the accident, the driver of the van attempted to mislead the police and was later arrested together with his passenger.
