Grenada National Swim Team Repesents At The Goodwill Swim Meet

Grenada’s National Swim team was represented at the XXIII edition of the Goodwill Swim Meet from August 18-20 at the National Aquatic Centre, Liliendaal Guyana. 

Swimmers of the 8-member team departed Grenada on August 17th to participate in the competition for the first time since 2009. The Goodwill meet is one of the premier developmental swim meets in the region in preparation for higher levels of competition such as the CARIFTA, CCCAN and OECS swim meets. Each year Goodwill invites 1-2 additional teams and Grenada was invited to participate after 8 years of absence.

Uprising off to a winning start in St. Mark Football Tournament

After a three-year break, the 2017 St. Mark Football Tournament got off to an exciting start at the Alston George Park in Victoria on Saturday.

The tournament began with a colourful march past involving some six of the nine participating teams and a formal ceremony that included short addresses from the organisers and Parliamentary Representative for St Mark Hon. Clarice Modeste. Then the long football drought in Victoria was finally put to rest with an exciting opening match that saw the men from Coast Guard sending a powerful message with a convincing 7 goals to 2 victories in game one.

Local football returns to Alston George Playing Field

After a three-year break to accommodate renovation work on the Alston George playing field in St. Mark the return of the St Mark domestic football tournament is expected to take centre stage this weekend.

The 2017 Grenlec sponsored tournament is expected kick-off this Saturday from 7 pm at the Alston George in Victoria, and according to chief organiser George Phillip, some nine teams are expected to battle for championship honours over the next three months of competition.
