Making a return to the ring

A former national boxer who has been out of the ring for well over a decade has decided to make a comeback, however he claims that those in authority have not embraced his decision.

Speaking to the Grenada Informer last week the former lightweight boxer Rickey Lawrence, who boasts of twenty-four fights to his name, with a record of twenty wins and four losses said he is coming back to make a statement in the OECS, but first he said he wants those in authority to give him the opportunity to fulfill his dream and the respect that his talent demands.

3 DAYS OF INTERCOL

The 2017 annual Scotia Bank Secondary School Athletic Championship will be breaking new ground this year, when for the first time since its inception, it would be contested over three days rather then the customary two days for which it has become known.

  Chairman of the Grenada Secondary School Games Association, Dominic Jeremiah, addressing members of the media during the official launch of inter-col 2017 at the Scotia Bank outlet in Grand Anse last week, said the move has become necessary to ensure greater efficiency in the management of the event.
