James and Fletcher take top awards

Grenada and world-renowned quarter miler Kirani James and West Indies off-spinner Afy Fletcher, took the top awards at the 2016 National, Sports Awards presented last Saturday.

  The two celebrated athletes had the country’s highest sporting awards, Grenada’s National Sports Man and Woman Award, bestowed on them during a gala reception at the Spice Basket in St George’s.

Grenadian Emmanuel Stewart hits another milestone

Grenadian wicketkeeper/batsman Emmanuel Stewart hit another milestone in his cricketing career, when he became the first Grenadian to captain a West Indies team at any level. 

Hailing from the sister isle of Carriacou Stewart, one of two Grenadians who represented the West Indies team in the 2016 ICCU 19 was named captain of the West Indies Under 19 team for their opening game in the 2017 Regional Super 50 against the Windward Island Volcanoes at the Sir Vivian Stadium in Antigua on Wednesday.

GFA Former TD Speaks out “No Structure” he says

Less than one week after tendering his resignation as Technical Director of the Grenada Football Association (GFA), British-trained Trevor Mc Intosh on Tuesday spoke to members of the media on the reason behind his action. 

Mc Intosh, who left Grenada for England at the tender age of ten, started out by saying that he never applied for the job as Technical Director but instead, he was handpicked and he came to the county of his birth (Grenada) for one purpose only and that is to help develop the sport of football.  However he noted that from the very outset he realized that his job of restructuring and developing football in Grenada was going to be a difficult one.
