The National Democratic Congress pulled off a massive victory motorcade one day after the party was swept into power.
A large convoy of a wide assortment of private and public vehicles filled with supporters clad in the party’s yellow t-shirt, complemented by flags and other paraphernalia circumnavigated the entire island, thanking everyone for their support, toward an eventual victory.
The motorcade began in Harvey-Vale and went through the various communities up to Windward in the north before ending at Paradise Beach.
There the jubilant supporters were joined by the newly elected Member of Parliament, Tevin Andrew, who had just returned from attending the official swearing-in ceremony of Political Leader, Dickon Mitchell, as the country’s ninth prime minister.
Prior to last week’s Friday, the NDC’s last victory rally on the sister isles was 27 years ago, when Joan Purcell emerged victorious at the June 20th, 1995 polls.
