The sister isles’ lone performer at the 2022 Spicemas soca monarch finals says although he failed in his bid to capture the title, he gained some valuable experience from the event and is ready to continue making his contribution to the annual Kayak Mas pre-Lenten celebrations.
Super Flying Flint (Clint John) had to settle for the sixth position in the competition, which was won by Terror the Governor.
Flint who is a former power soca monarch on the sister isles says that he will be going back to the platform to see how best he can improve his craft for future competitions.
It was a great learning curve for me as I seek to take the music of the sister isles to other parts of the region and the world,” said Super Flint.
The next stop in competition for the local artists will be at the pre-Lenten Kayak Mas in 2023, which is carded to climax on February 20th and 21st.
Super Flint strongly believes that the early release of music is critical to driving the festival forward and promises to ensure that the door of the Kayak tent swings open in time for the 2023 celebrations.
“I recognize that we have a habit of keeping back our music and this is not good for the festival, therefore I will be releasing my first selection early next month. I also will be taking the lead to ensure that we have a Kayak tent in operation for Kayak Mas 2022.
The committee has already contacted me for us to present what our packages would be in terms of the breakdown of payment we are looking for,” he added.
A number of the artistes on the mainland he said, will be releasing music for Kayak Mas 2023.
“It promises to be an epic one next year,” ended Super Flint.
